The detective profession has become more professional over the past 10 years. The trade unions have largely contributed to this success. Indeed, these organisations have notably made it possible to clarify the legal framework of the profession and to enforce the code of ethics on which detectives rely on .
Several unions are currently present for private investigators to represent the profession. Here are a few :
- the CNSP: National Superior Professional Council of Private Research Agents
- the SNARP: National Union of Private Research Agents
- the CNDEP: National Confederation of Private Investigators
- the OND: the National Office of Detectives
These various actors are required to represent and defend the profession, in particular with the CNAPS, National Council for Private Security Activities.
